IN THE FOREST
Le Brothers | 2021–2026
“How old are you, tree?”
In the Forest began with a simple question that came to us while touching an ancient tree in an old-growth forest.
Through our journeys into the forests of the Truong Son Mountains and other regions, we gradually came to recognize that the forest is not merely a landscape for humans to observe, but a living entity that exists alongside us.
Through painting, objects, video, and installation, the project opens a dialogue between human beings and nature, memory and time, inside and outside.
In the Forest is not an attempt to represent a forest.
It is an attempt to recognize its presence—and to recognize ourselves as only a small part of a much larger living system.
